Our Calling
In our digital world that has become increasingly automated and AI-powered, we feel the call to preserve and promote the handwriting culture and to provide the fine writing instruments that people deserve to enjoy.
When our predecessor, the Pen Museum, decided to close in 2018 after having served the Hong Kong pen community for over 60 years, we took up the challenge to continue their legacy. We renamed ourselves “Muze Pens” and opened our doors in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong on May 1st, 2019.
As a purveyor of fine writing instruments, we hope to offer you a selections of pens that serve not only as tools for creation but as catalysts for your inspiration, personal growth, and connection.
What is “Muze”?
The word “muze” is derived from “muse”, which means to reflect or ponder and is also often used to describe a being or force that is a source of artistic inspiration.
The phonemic similarity to the word “museum” is a nod to the efforts and contributions made by our predecessor the Pen Museum. It is our hope that our patrons will find inspiration in their intellectual pursuits with the writing instruments that they discovered in our store.
Why Sham Shui Po?
We chose to set foot in Sham Shui Po, a diverse and vibrant neighborhood where the traditional (textile, leather and fashion industries) meets the new (computer arcades, electronic gadgets stores) and Hong Kong-style eateries (dai-pai-dong and dim sum) and modern hip coffee shops mingle in the same block. In our neighborhood, you will find vintage camera shops, vinyl record stores, arts and crafts shops, art galleries and bookstores. We hope that you will also feel the creative energy when you visit us in Sham Shui Po.

Apart from serving the local community, we are committed to bringing our selection of fine writing instruments to people all around the world.
