TACCIA, founded in 2003, insists on their core values when creating their writing instruments: accessibility and beauty, incorporating beautiful craftsmanship and high quality materials. They are most known for their urushi lacquer pens, in which an urushi craftsman applies, by hand, a natural lacquer to the pen barrel, layer by layer. Then, meticulously polishing it until there is a lustrous shine. Each of these pens take several months to produce. TACCIA is committed to reviving the traditional lacquer art of Japan while exploring new techniques and technologies as well.
